iPhones, iPads, iMacs will now come with ChatGPT, Here’s all you need to know about it…

Apple is fully embracing AI, introducing a number of new AI capabilities as well as a collaboration with OpenAI, the company that makes ChatGPT. During its Worldwide Developers Conference on Monday afternoon, the business made the announcement.

“Apple Intelligence” was introduced by Apple officials, including CEO Tim Cook, on Monday during a presentation that lasted almost two hours at the company’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference in Cupertino, California.

“This is the next big step for Apple, and it goes beyond artificial intelligence. It’s personal intelligence,” stated CEO Tim Cook.

“ChatGPT is free to use and doesn’t require account creation. “When announcing the integration, Craig Federighi, senior vice president of software engineering at Apple, stated that your requests and information would not be logged.” He continued by saying that while Apple plans to grow its alliances with other businesses, it will start by providing free access to OpenAI’s GPT-4o, which was unveiled last month. “Of course, you’re in control over when ChatGPT is used,” he stated, adding you’ll “be asked before any information is shared.”

With the aid of ChatGPT, the virtual assistant Siri will be able to perform hundreds of activities, as part of the updates.

This much-awaited artificial intelligence collaboration is a first for Apple, which analysts have noted has adopted AI more slowly than other tech giants like Microsoft and Google.

Through the agreement, OpenAI, one of the most well-known artificial intelligence firms in recent years, will make its technology available to millions of Apple consumers. OpenAI has already formed alliances with other publishing and technology firms, including a multibillion-dollar agreement with Microsoft.

The statement is made at a time when AI has seen both spectacular advances and some humiliating defeats. Artificial intelligence (AI) assistants and chatbots have been plagued by problems such as plagiarism, hallucinations, and biased or inaccurate outcomes. Actress Scarlett Johansson’s voice has allegedly been plagiarized by OpenAI without her consent.

Additionally, the Justice Department and fifteen states have launched an antitrust complaint against Apple. Apple is accused by the government of exploiting its monopoly status to drive out competitors and maintain its user base. It’s unclear how this case may be affected by Apple’s recent collaboration with OpenAI.

Craig Federighi, senior vice president of software engineering at Apple, stated that “Apple Intelligence” “protects your privacy at every step” and “puts AI models right at the core of your iPhone, iPad, and Mac.”

The iOS 18 operating system, which is expected to be released later this year, will include free updates; however, the complete feature set will only be compatible with more recent iPhone, iPad, and Macbook models.

In a social media post, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman expressed his happiness in working with Apple to incorporate ChatGPT into their products, calling the partnership “very happy.”
