Pinterest Launches New Holiday Shopping Features To Boost Seasonal Sales

By Business Leaders ReviewNovember 25, 2024

    Key Highlights:

    • Pinterest introduces curated gift guides and shoppable wishlists for holiday shoppers.
    • Enhanced features such as catalog integration and mobile deep links improve the application’s usability.
    • The Q3 revenue of the platform rose 18%, driven by AI-powered personalization and user growth.

Pinterest is enhancing its holiday shopping experience with curated gift guides and shoppable wishlists, building on a strong tradition of seasonal innovation. These features aim to inspire shoppers and provide seamless shopping options, positioning Pinterest as a premier destination for holiday shopping.

In 2022, Pinterest debuted its “Shop the Holidays” event on Pinterest TV, featuring shoppable content from local and global brands. In 2023, the platform partnered with Anthropologie to launch a shoppable home in Brooklyn Heights, New York, integrating QR codes linked to shoppable boards. Now, in 2024, it continues to innovate by offering AI-driven tools to personalize shopping experiences for its users.

Enhanced Features for Advertisers and Shoppers

Pinterest has been investing in shoppable features to transform its application into an advertising and e-commerce powerhouse. Recent updates include the following:

    • Direct links to brand websites
    • Mobile deep links that guide users to specific retailer app pages
    • Enhanced catalog management tools for businesses

These changes aim to make shopping on Pinterest more intuitive and efficient.

    Strong Performance Reflects Pinterest’s Growth

Pinterest’s focus on AI and shoppable technology is paying off. In Q3 2024, the company reported an 18% year-over-year revenue increase to $898 million, alongside an 11% rise in monthly active users, now totaling 537 million. CEO Bill Ready highlighted AI-driven personalization as a key driver, making Pinterest indispensable for advertisers and shoppers alike.

With its curated tools and growing audience, the platform is set to make this holiday shopping season its most successful yet, blending inspiration with actionable shopping experiences.
