GPT-4o: Faster, Better Than ChatGPT Model Released By OpenAI

OpenAI released its most recent large language model artificial intelligence on Monday, claiming it will improve ChatGPT’s intelligence and user experience.

The company’s previous GPT-4 model, which was introduced a little more than a year ago, was updated with the current model, known as GPT-4o. The model will be accessible to non-paying users, allowing everyone to use ChatGPT to access OpenAI’s most cutting-edge technology.

The chatbot, called ChatGPT 4.0, costs $20 per month and is available in two flavors: ChatGPT 3.5, which is free, and ChatGPT 4.0, which cost $20 per month and ignited an entirely new wave of consumer-friendly AI. You can choose a huge language model that can process a lot more data when it provides responses to your prompts with that subscription price.

GPT-4o ought to at least somewhat close the disparity. Additionally, ChatGPT will let you have more conversational exchanges.

OpenAI’s free users can now use GPT-4 thanks to the update, according to technology leader Mira Murati, who made the announcement at a livestreamed event. She went on to say that the GPT-4o, the new model, is “much faster” and has better text, video, and audio capabilities. OpenAI stated that it eventually intends to enable video communication between users and ChatGPT.

In terms of usability, Murati stated, “This is the first time that we are really making a huge step forward.”

GPT-4o’s o stands for omni. According to Murati, developers may start creating apps using the new model right now because it will be made available via OpenAI’s API and enables ChatGPT to handle 50 different languages with better speed and quality.

According to a blog post, the business intends to test Voice Mode in the upcoming weeks, with early access available to ChatGPT Plus premium members. Additionally, according to OpenAI, the new model can react to audio cues from users “in as little as 232 milliseconds, with an average of 320 milliseconds, which is similar to human response time in a conversation.”

The announcement of OpenAI’s GPT-4o occurs one day before Google’s annual I/O developer conference, where artificial intelligence—connected to its Gemini chatbot and its Search Generative Experience—is probably going to be a big subject. Additionally, it is anticipated that Apple will discuss a lot about AI at WWDC, its own developer conference, in early June.
