Celtics vs Nets Game 2: Key Highlights from the 114-107 Winning Grind

By Business Leaders ReviewApril 22, 2022
    Celtics vs Nets Game 2

The Celtics vs Nets Game 2 took a dramatic finishing after grinding out a 114-107 win. In the Celtics vs Nets Game 2, Celtics triumphed over Nets with a 1-0 lead in the series. The Celtics defeated the Nets 115-114 in the last meeting. Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with 31 points, and Kyrie Irving led the Nets with 39 points.

    Celtics vs Nets Game 2

The Boston Celtics host the Brooklyn Nets in the Eastern Conference first-round with a 1-0 lead in the series. With ‘Game 2 Celtics Win’ making the headlines, Boston’s defense was the difference-maker in the contest. Moreover, the glorious victory made life incredibly difficult for Kevin Durant once again limiting him to shooting just 23.5 percent from the field. The Nets took command of this game early on, working up a 17-point lead at one point, but after halftime, the Celtics buckled down and began executing on offense.

Jayson Tatum hit clutch shots down the stretch and finished the night with 19 points, 10 assists and six rebounds, while Jaylen Brown tacked on another 22 points in the win. It was really a balanced attack from the Celtics as all five starters scored in double figures, and Grant Williams came up big off the bench with 17 points. The series will now shift to Brooklyn for the next two games, as the Nets try and get back in this series against a dominant Boston team.

    Celtics Nets Highlights

Following are some Celtics Nets highlights:

    • The Celtic’s defense gave K.D. all sorts of problems. Durant has built a legacy of being one of the most difficult players in NBA history to guard. His unique combination of size and skill made his shot essentially unguidable as he could elevate over anyone and get a clean look off. Each time the ball escalated Durant’s hands, it only proved how lethal of a scorer he has been throughout his entire career.
    • The Celtics vs Nets Game 2 was one of those games which proved the significance of playoffs. 7 players finished in double digits for the Celtics—and Boston received great production out of its two key bench players in Grant Williams and Payton Pritchard.

Top performers of Celtics vs Nets Game 2 Tatum is the best performer of Game 2 of the Celtics vs Nets. He scored 26.9 points per game with 8.0 rebounds and 4.4 assists for the Celtics. Next to him was Jaylen Brown, averaging 26.3 points and 6.4 rebounds while shooting 52.9% over the last 10 games for Boston. Lastly,  Patty Mills averaged 11.4 points for the Nets. Kevin Durant is averaging 30.1 points over the last 10 games for Brooklyn.
